The House of Osman, also known as the Ottoman dynasty, was the ruling house of the Ottoman Empire from the late 13th century to the early 20th century. The dynasty was founded by Osman I in 1299 and continued to rule over the empire until the end of World War I.
The Ottomans were originally a Turkish tribal group living in Anatolia, who gradually expanded their territory, eventually conquering Constantinople and establishing the Ottoman Empire. The dynasty produced a long line of rulers, known as sultans, who oversaw the empire's growth and development.
One of the most famous sultans of the House of Osman was Suleiman the Magnificent, who ruled from 1520 to 1566 and presided over the empire's golden age. Under his rule, the Ottoman Empire expanded its territory to its greatest extent, reaching from Hungary in the west to Iraq in the east.
The House of Osman was known for its strong military tradition and administrative skills, which allowed the Ottoman Empire to become a major world power. However, by the 19th century, the empire began to decline, and it eventually collapsed at the end of World War I.
Today, the House of Osman remains an important part of Turkish history and culture, and some members of the dynasty still live in Turkey.
